It is with great sadness that the Golden Fleece Cricket Club reports the death last Thursday of their beloved President, John ‘JP’ Prentice. John has been associated with the club for over 20 years.Firstly as a player but then as Wednesday Captain, Chairman and latterly as President.
He will be remembered as a true gentlemen, full of anecdotes with a passion for cricket, gin and tonic and red wine. His ability to remember the names of all players wives and girlfriends was renowned, even if he forgot the players themselves. He still retains the honour of being the Fleece’s eldest player.
John was an out-and-out charmer and deservedly receives the accolade of ‘legend’.
Our thoughts and deepest sympathies got to Lyn, Tom and Anna and their families.
